In the district court five civil actions under the Federal Tort Claims Act were, by agreement, consolidated for trial upon the issue of liability vel non of the United States, with the further understanding that, if the United States were held liable, separate hearings would be had to ascertain and damages to each plaintiff. The cases are likewise consolidated upon appeal. The district court entered findings of fact and conclusions of law, and rendered judgment against the plaintiffs.
